The Future of Enterprise SSD Revealed in Jihyo Lee Keynote at Flash Memory Summit

Key FADU Executives will be Speaking in Technology Tracks and at in-booth Presentations

FADU Technology (fadu.io) is a fabless startup focused on advancing flash storage technology to meet the accelerating data demands placed on Enterprise and Hyperscale datacenters. The company understands that SSD technology and market applications are at an inflection point that will usher in the era of the SSD, as the last three barriers of price, power/performance and capacity have finally been overcome. FADU is a premier sponsor of Flash Memory Summit (FMS) 2019 held August 6-8, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Visit FADU in booth #940.

Jihyo Lee is the CEO and co-founder of FADU. He was a former partner at Bain & Company and a successful serial entrepreneur involved in multiple businesses in the technology, telecom, and energy sectors. He will deliver a keynote address titled “The Future of Enterprise SSD” on Thursday, August 8 at 11:00 AM. His talk will focus on how a myriad of new applications are driving the demand for cloud-based, high-performance Enterprise and Hyperscale datacenter storage and the urgent need for the SSD industry to step up and grasp this opportunity. To set the stage for the era of SSD, he identifies a forward vision for SSD devices to maintain QOS and scale bandwidth without increasing power consumption that causes thermal issues that lead the throttling. With this accomplished, SSD applications can explosively expand, including the displacement of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and some hard disk drive (HDD) storage in datacenter applications.

Show attendees can learn how FADU has solved the challenges facing Enterprise and Hyperscale datacenter SSDs with its unique approach to NVMe controller architecture. The Annapurna Flash Controller features a RISC-V Core for exception handling, a simplified Flash Translation Layer (FTL) and an optimized architecture that supports and broad assortment of NVMe 1.3a features and the PCIe 3.1 interface in 4 or 2-lane (dual port) systems. The controller is at the very center of the company’s Bravo and upcoming Bravo XL SSD designs.

FADU is also on the forefront of the industry conversion to a technology consignment business model. The company’s products and SSDs are available to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), storage device manufacturers, and end customers manufacturing their own SSD designs, or FADU can receive consigned FLASH components and manufacture private labeled SSDs for its customers.

Hear FADU experts speak in the show’s technology tracks or drop by the booth to hear short technology presentations throughout the show. Here are three of FADU’s key executive speakers.

About FADU Technology

FADU Technology is a fabless startup developing advanced flash storage technology to meet the explosively increasing data storage demands placed on hyperscale, enterprise and cloud data centers. Our innovative SSD solutions are based on industry-standard specifications, designed with FADU’s proprietary Flash Memory Controller architecture, and compatibility with multiple industry NAND suppliers. FADU’s storage designs address all aspects of Flash-based storage – very low power, ultra-high performance, rich feature sets, solid reliability and superior QOS. The company believes that other solutions, with legacy ties to the past, are unable to meet the performance and power requirements to support real-time, cloud-based, connected applications. FADU’s global team, of seasoned storage architects, ASIC experts, and SSD engineers, is charting the course for the industry.
